Sand and Sea

Police Van to take us away

Our charitable donations at the School Fair
Several month passes by and to the disappointment of my followers my agents have not been as active as i have hoped. I feel that I have to reactive this dormant period of my blog life, and place some inserts before the end of this year (2011)

I have grown up tremendously since my last posting in September, would like to share with you some of the highlights over the past few months:
1. my first typhoon in October
2. my first school fair and a clear win for slotting bean bags into holes
3. a ride in a police car
4. graduated up through 3 shoe sizes
5. feeding myself
6. mosquito bites, falls, accidents and blood
7. swimming at sea with daddy and passion for sand
8. arrived stylishing to my 2nd cousin's wedding dressed as a Spider
9. re establishing teething again, had a stunt in teeth growth since 8 months.  now, 8 months later I see my vampire tooth
10. the last but NOT least, the news of my baby brother in mummy's tummy....YAH!!

Christmas comes early for a good boy who has stayed at home all year

"Christmas comes early" as they say.  This time, i would like to thank Angela for sneaking me out for an afternoon of fun.  It was certainly something that my parents would never dream of, a trip to the mall for a photo opportunity at Santa's grotto.  I sometimes really question where their sense of fun is.

Angela, thank you so much for looking after me and teaching me a thing or two about Christmas the fun.
Look forward to many more days out this one.

My private business

The Picture speak a thousand words....

Needless to say that I've been put on discipline training.  After our family meeting mummy and daddy has said that we can no longer afford to pay for nappies anymore and that I have to pull my weight around the house and help reduce this cost!

Mid Autumn Festival

Can't remember what I did last year for the Mid Autumn Festival, but this year was much more memorable.

For a start, I got to stay up late to play with all the children and got to watch real life lanterns taking off into the night sky.

Heard Firecrackers crackling within feet away; kicked balls made of plastic glow in the dark tubes, also was given my first bracelet from one of my new found friends at Por Por's village.

Ran around the gravel pitch as if i have a new set of legs, but of course they are now new, just a new set of skills this year...."the art of walking"....

Happy Mid Autumn Festival everyone and enjoy that extra piece of Mooncake!
Happy Mid Autumn Festival

On this night the moon is always round, we worship the moon with offerings such as mooncakes and chestnuts

glow in the dark sticks

My friends Alexi & Jasmine, so jealous they got to stay late to be close to the lanterns....it was fast asleep at the time

Coiffure

"Coiffure" french for "hairdresser".

I decided to use this french term as it's really the best way to describe my day at the Salon.  My first experience with a pair of scissors on my head and an electric shaver that buzzed against my ears.

Sat on a horse like one of those on a carousel near the Tour Effiel, I was being styled by a top stylist for children.

The shop is called Magic Mirrors, i suppose the meaning behind the name is that, one look in the mirror and you'll be transformed.

So gone is my "80's" style and in with the "new kid on the block"!

1st BIRTHDAY - FIRST STEP

I attempted to take my first step on the exact day of my first birthday, it was sort of an award I wanted to present to myself.

On the 2nd day after my birthday, i quadrupled it and made four steps - thats what I call progress.
So thanks to who?  Well no other than Clarks - my "first shoes".

Mummy told everyone that my step out to "toddlerhood" made her cry,  but I think she was more tearful over the price at which we bought the shoes.  We went all over to Great Britain to fetch them.  Why?  because they were in the sale and at 10th of the price had we bought them locally.

For all you mothers out there, these are a MUST buy

Scolding

My first scolding, i was doing my usual bit of exploring when I got trapped between the bed and the desk in Paris hotel room.  Dad was ANGRY to say the least and scolded me like there was no tomorrow.

"sorry daddy, I promise I won't do it again, or at least I will be more careful when I attempt this act again"!...I know you think I've disfigured my nose and bruised my chin but at least I survived the jump.

Site of accident

Sent to sleep after being scolding. If you look carefully i cut my nose from the fall

My Generosity

My mate "Gor Gor" , the Twin - i think either his name is Markus or Gabriel (i cannot remember which), recently won a competition for the baby with the "funniest face", selected by a panel of "wise kids executives" and was published on the the Wise Kids newsletter.  He did a great job but I think it was due to my generosity as I did not enter the competition in order to pave way for  Gor Gor to win!

An Old Wives Tale - Congratulations Sheila & Kenny!

There's a Old Wives tale out there that if a baby does the "downward facing dog yoga pose" then a baby in the family is coming to close family. Don't be surprised just yet....I don't have a sis or bro on the way (not that i am aware of anyway). It's my cousins Sheila and Kenny.....Yah they have a baby and it's is on it's way!

No Pets Allowed

I would say that in any swimming pool, there would be a "no pets allowed" policy.
So how different would it be for this one.  Obviously some one came in for a swim not only left in a hurry but also left his pet here.

As the Tiger ripped through the pool, it drove all guests away

Guess Daddy's Pool is not so private anymore!

Parking Issues

2 July 2011 - My First Birthday Party - Part 2

Road Rage has luckily not been genetically instilled in me as yet, but I gotta say, on this particular occasion -  FUSTRATION.  Let me explain, The Birthday Bash of the year (for Jonathan) was well attended with the high rollers and their cars.

Parking spaces at Jonathan's place however were scarce.  The Tower effect was used so that we could fit everyone's roller in.  I witnessed not only side by side but also stacked on top.  Though a good solution, probably more so for the last guest who came in, but for the first guest such as myself....grrrrrr .....long wait to get to bottom.

Long wait for my car that was one of the first parked at the bottom

My First Birthday Party

July 2, 2011 - Birthday Bash

The best thing about being a "under one year old" is that you can put a generalisation of "my first" to everything.  Not to worry if at this point, you feel that you we're invited to my first birthday, as the day has not come yet.

I am referring to my mate Jonathan.  I was invited to a big bash for the old boy, escorted by my parents, I was there early in view of getting front row seats.

Jonathan is a funny boy and whilst most people have a humble abode, he has a bouncy abode, i referred to it as the "fancy castle", as it was indeed very fancy and above all else, a  castle.
Entering his home gave me that.... well jelly sensation.  It was clearly a maze in there, at one point, I struggled to get out of the Brad Pitt...ooops I mean Ball Pit.

Jonathan aka CUB knows how to put something on in style, not only was champagne served early in the morning (repsect) for the adults, we had cake with a huge Tiger towering over it....think it was there to protect the cake from prying stomachs.

Happy Birthday CUB, another day older and other day wiser!

Sometimes Things in Life Just does not work out the way you planned

26th June, 2011 - Sometimes Things in Life Just Does not Work out the Way you Planned

08:15 Sunday morning,  I was dragged from the comfort of being at home with my toys to training camp at the Pool from Daddy's private pool.

We arrive, all armed and rearing to go. I'm armed with my swim train gear, Daddy's armed with his camera, Mummy's armed with her excitement! M&D are always well coordinated, just as if they are synchronised doing the  Calum dance. Mum takes 5 mins to dress me, at which point Daddy is in the changing room putting on his gear. He enters the pool area and sees me in the water rearing to go and naturally this inspires him to take out his camera to start clicking

Suddenly Mr  Life Guard marches over to Daddy,  "Oh no" I think to myself, we shouldn't have started to take pictures  as it was knowingly a total breach of protocol, now we are going to be warned or worse, KICKED OUT.

On this occasion, it was not just the WORSE that happened, it was the WORSE WORSE. Five full minutes (nothing less & nothing more) of a great paddle in the pool,  we were informed that there was thunderstorm warning.  Mum and I reluctantly got out of the pool, Daddy on the other hand had no reluctance issues, as he hadn't even managed to dip a finger in the pool.

No swim & No food either .....a LONG wait for the Dim Sum restaurant to open

Expressions speak louder than words - I DON'T want to eat, I WANT to Swim

A lesson in R*E*S*P*E*C*T*

"BIG is BETTER and that is what I call RESPECT"......

I recall a visit from Little Nathan (that how mum refers to him) I on the other hand call him BIG BROTHER Nathan, anyway this fella, with his bad boy looks shows off his little Mater from the feature film "Cars" by Disney-Pixar. As he struts his stuff around my home, I am clearly disturbed by his hand held Mater as it's in my face.

I am secretively intimidated by him...I am forced to hide in my bedroom until the force of power takes over the better of me. I glance at the corner of my room and see a glimpse of hope ....
It's the real deal -  Mater in life form, quickly I hop onto this ride and dash open my bedroom door, needless to day Nathan is at lost for words...

He is surprised and realise that his own Mater is in a small world after all. We exchange Maters, Big Nathan gets the big one and Little Calum gets the small one.

Lesson learnt by all: "Bigger is Better"  - "RESPECT" it's so cool to be in with the crowd.

It's my fathers Day

On Mummy's Day, she wanted a posh meal in a posh restaurant.  My father on the other hand did not want the fuss.  The moment I woke up, I  was directed by mum to make a meal from scratch. So off to the market i went early this morning.

We made mum's.....ooops I mean dad's favourite "a boeuf explosion avec pomme des terres traditionelle" or as they say en anglais & simply put "beef pie with potatoes"

I even walked into Park N Shop with my head held high and my pennies weighing down my little trouser pockets, i choose a bottle of bubbly for a grand total of HK$12.5 to compliment the meal.

Asked my mum what the meaning of Father's day is, her reply was "it's exactly like Mothers day,  Father's day is an opportunity for Papa to look after Mama ", and Mother's day?....."well ...it's the reverse, it's where Mama is looked after by Papa"!

Learning point, it's fair and square, on both occasions, I have to look after them both....sigh!
Check out the HK boy chef's uniform

Curb your Addiction

Life is good when you have a steady stream of followers, but i can totally emphasise with those A-lister "Mammy" award winners especially when you're in great demand and pressed to feature the next album.

Whilst i was lying in my new lofty uptown apartment, soaking up the morning sun and sipping  "Milkarita", I suddenly came up with more inspiration to write.

To all those Lawlam addicts out there...."Curb your Addition"....there's more in the store for you.....

"Milkarita - hick....ooops"
"ah life is good when your in demand - juuuuust LURRRRRVE the attention"

Swimming Season

Kicked off my swimming season by joining the masses in Dad's private pool at work today. When we got there however, it was everything but private.  Seemed like all parents were out showing off their children.

I did a bit of showing off too - I had the best float "in the house"!

Happy Days

You are my guiding light - Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day, I'm told by Daddy is a big day.  It's my mummy's first.  Daddy & I had thought long and hard on how to ensure that mummy knows that she is the BEST MUM in the world.

She woke up this morning and we surprised her with something that I wrapped up in a paper box with an envelope containing some of the remains of my saliva and teeth marks after a good chew.

To her surprise, we bought her a lamp!  She looked puzzled as she was expecting something more "luxurious" - like a nice branded wallet or a nice dress.

We decided on a light because, I wanted to deliver one simple message "mum, your the best mum and thank you for delivering me your  light, to guide me though the good and bad of this life.

Happy Mother's day mummy!

My first taster of Champagne - Happy GrandMOTHER's Day

I wanted to take my por por out to somewhere special, so special where I can sneak in a free taste of the good life.

Thank you Por Por for looking after me. Thank you mummy for my first taste of Champagne - I'm feeling rather dizzy now!

Hard at Work

Whilst most of us were celebrating Labour Day, i was doing the exact opposite. Busy doing at grocery shopping, I ensured that I have my essentials taken care of.
my essential Pampers.  (excuse the mozzie bites on my face,  i'm just too sweet for them)
